A glimpse into a previous life. . .

Tonight C and A were sitting together doing a craft. It was a rare moment of peace between them. Being the oldest and the youngest they do not spend much time together.C asked us a question about A and what we taught her when she came home to us.
A started talking about how she used to hav
e to share a bed with her friends.
C asked her if she meant while she was in China. She said yes.
C asked her how many friends she had to share a bed with. She said two.
C asked her if it was a big bed or a small one like hers. She said it was a small one.
She then moved on to reminding us that she had a playground and enjoyed it very much.
These are the rare glimpses we get into the life she had before joining our family. She spent just over three and a half years in China. She spent about half of this time with a foster family and the other half in the Wuzhou Social Welfare Institute. She has memories of this time. Some I am sure are good and some not so good. She does not often talk about it, so when she does I just listen.

This is one of the first photos we received of A in February of 2007. You can see the playground that she enjoyed so much.
